Day Three - 6/17

Event presided over by Dr. S. Stonedahl.
Guest appearance by: Dr. F. Stonedahl.
What we did
    Caleb cleaned the Apparatus.
Ran second and third permeameter tests of 1st sand (White Play Sand).
Results from the third test differed from previous tests significantly.
Decided to move on to testing the 2nd sand (Mason Sand: Quikrete).
Through trial and error, ran first permeameter test of 2nd sand.
Oops! Sand in the tube.
Easy fix.
Cut the corner guards for the Apparatus.
Attached three of the four corner guards to the Apparatus.
Ran the second permeameter test of the 2nd sand.
Got the code working to go from TProGS to MATLAB to NetLogo. (Yes!)
Found more research regarding ratios of heterogeneous sediments.

What we will do
Attach the fourth corner guard to the Apparatus.
    More permeameter tests.
    Attend Summer Research Institute lunch.
Decide on a heterogeneous sediment ratio.
    Create more files.
    Get the code for restimes.

And more pictures (added afterwards by the photo-happy professor)

filtering sand

adding sand to permeameter

corner guards...
Plans and to do's being updated.
